Looking for a plan/design/instructions on how to make a halter at home. All the horse ones are either too expensive or not strong enough. I am not a knotsmith but can find my way around decent directions. So if anyone has some plans please let me know so I can keep Victor, Coco and Shelika happy.

Hello from the Black Forest, Germany.
I found this could be helpfull for you: http://www.camelphotos.com/camel_halters.html
We reccomend as well for Camels the red halters from Monty Roberts. Visible behind the following Hyperlink: http://www.montyroberts.com/shop_tack_training.html

Those halters from Monty Roberts look like they would work good, the usual problem with most horse halters is the ring on the side of the head sits too close to the camel’s eye.
What I like using is a horse rope halter. They are cheep, very strong, light weight, give you a lot of control without having to use a chain, and they can easily be readjusted to fit a camel. There should be a tag on the rope halter showing how to readjust the knot to make it larger around the nose, and then I also lower the knots on the sides to move them further down from the eyes.

you can check out this web site and see if it suits you.
I have made about a dozen halters by using part of this web sites halter directions and part of my own ideas
Good Luck
