I have a selenium supplement in a white powder. I'm unsure of the content of selenium in this area, I would have it tested but I get my hay from different places every time. What would be a reasonable amount of selenium to add to daily feedings? Or should it just be once a week thing? What do you use to mix in the powder so the camel eats it? And how would you give it to a baby camel still on milk? Or should you?

Ask your feed supplier and veterinarian about the selenium levels in your area.

If you still have any questions after reading this, please ask.
The Selenium levels are good where I live, but I had Gobi's blood tested one time just to make sure. And when he was young I also gave him a little just to be safe.

ATTENTION WITH SELENIUM !!!
Overdosed Selenium is very fast dangerous. Ask your veterinarian. To much Selenium is very quick poison for the body. My Camels eat the Selenium weekly wich is in Lactosepowder in daily dosis of Force fodder and they eat it with out troubles. Guys, i hope that my english was good enough. If not, i ask your pardon.

What would be a safe amount to give that would not be too much for him? I'll talk to my vet about this, but I would like to give him a little bit each week that I know he is getting.

I give them each one a soup spoonfull of Selenium aprox. 20 gr. I now you calculate not with Kilos and Gramm over there. You have to calculate in American Measures. Important is that you give your Camels some Selenium. Why do you ask not in a Zoo? The Zoo Veterinarians are often the best in Exotic Animals there frequently do the fact, that there often are involved exlusiv for those Animals.
