yes,of course it works. horses need a bit longer, depending to their character, to get used to camels. ususally they need 3 - 6 weeks.;)

Yes it works! But between Camels and Horses exists a traditional antipathy. Coldblood Horses are quicker able to accept the Camels. I now 1 Breeder who let them pastorise together but the Horses stays alltimes in offside.
One other Breeder in Switzerland had a 6 month old Camel together with a Newborn Horse. Result: There plays very rough games together and the Camel has now brocken the endphalanx of his legs.

I have found that Arabian horses usually get along quite well with camels. It took my horses a long time to accept my camel, like a few years to accept him completely.
Some of the problems with having camels and horses together are:
1. Horses kick fast and camels move slow, this can lead to the camel getting a broken leg.
2. Horses are usually afraid of camels, even from far away.
3. Camels are not afraid of horses and a camel may try running over to a horse trying to be friends.

I have been breeding Arabian horses and Camels for a long time. The question about if camels and horses get along is quite complicated. Camels by nature create a social ladder and they rank themselves that way. Horses do the same. My family have been breeding camles and horses for hundreds of years so I have the luxury to share their experiences.

I usually have no broblem when I introduce non-bossy shecamel to the same social rank in my mares. It would be a desister to but highest mare in the social rank with any of my shecamles.

It takes time and efferts to know their social ranking and behaviours, ad most likely we know what to expect before a problem happens.

Stallions of both camels and horses SHOULD never be put together as this is guaranteed disaster for you and your animals. I hope this help.

There are always exceptions. My horse stallion gets along with my camel very will. At times they even eat out of the same feeder.
