Camel Boots ??

Doing a vast search for camel boots, shoes, and sandals to protect a camel’s foot if needed I came up with the photo below. The card in the photo is kind of hard to read so I printed up what I could make of it: :rolleyes:
“Camel Boots
Camels were tried as pack animals in 1862 but the stony roads were too hard on their feet. They were turned loose and the last surviving camel died near K_ _ _ _ in 1935”

For 5 camel bananas who can guess what we are really looking at here :confused:

If they're metal, most of them look like regular draft horse shoes, except for that thing in the upper right-hand corner. That looks like an ash shovel for a wood burning stove. :p ;)

Good guess about the draft horse shoe. It’s larger than a regular horse shoe. :rolleyes:
The thing at the top right could be an ash shovel or a garden hoe. ;)
But who can guess what the other two are. :confused:

They kinda look like old rusty brake shoes from someone's car or truck! Am I close? :p ;) :cool:

They are animal shoes, I was surprised when the first guy that I showed this photo to at work know exactly what they were. Years ago he had even used a pair of them as side plates, with a bar between them to make a bit for his horse. But what type of animal shoes are they :confused:

Well, they look narrow enough to be a Mule shoe, but they seem to be too flat and splayed-out. Don't tell me they're Came:eek: l shoes!

They look like oxen shoes to me.

Yes, that’s exactly what they are. In India where they have oxen pulling carts along the roads I saw a lot of them being used... In the photo, there’s one draft horse shoe, two oxen shoes and maybe some type of a garden tool.
Maybe someday the person who has this photo posted on the internet will finally figure out that you can’t nail steel shoes on a camel’s feet. :D
