I have been trying to get through to the forum for several days with no luck. When I click in to a topic it does not display any posts. It only brings up the reply box. Tonight I was able to read Roger's test posts and the topic immediately following. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can log on to all the topics and read what was originally posted as well as the replies?

Thanks,
Doug

The web host had a data base problem the other day; they say the problem is fixed.
I’ve been in contact with them about the old post no displaying anymore; they say there’s nothing wrong on their side,
I’ve also been in contact with the vBulletin forum and tried a number of different things to fix this problem. No luck yet.
I’m at work now and was going to try some other things to fix this forum on my off hours, but one of the workers called in sick and I’m having to work 16 hour days.
Hopefully later this week I will be able to work on fixing the problem.

I'm very sorry that I have not been able to get this forum working right as of yet. Had a big yearly inspection with a lot of testing where I work and where short handed which made things difficult.
I did spend over 6 hours trying to fix things here so that the old post would show again.
The database is there and everything looks good and I'm sure I will be able to get this fixed when I can find the time.
I'm off to India now for the Sonepur Animal Fair, this is the world's largest animal fair in the world. When I get back in a few weeks I will continue working on the forums problems.

Sorry I can't fix them now.
Roger

Well I've been in India for 3 days now and been going to some very remote places to shoot photos. Right now I'm in Jaipur and will be around the elephants for a day or two.
When I get back I will try to fix this fourm or pay someone who can.

Thanks,
Roger

Any idea when you'll be back to fix this site? I don't know about anyone else, but I'm anxious to get this thing up and running again! HELP!

I'm back from India but have been very sick with bronchitis and lack of sleep. From the Symptoms I guessing that I also had the Swine Flu while in India.
To make things worse, my horse stallion "Creek" was also sick and had to be put down 2 days ago. My zebra "Dandy" is taking it very hard, she keeps calling for him.

I just set things up where I'm moving CamelPhotos.com to a new host called HostGator.com This will give CamelPhotos.com more room to grow, where we had run out of space on the old host.

CamelPhotos.com will be on 2 different host but you will only see it on the new one as I try to fix this Forum on the old host where it won't matter how badly I mess thing up.
Okay, the plan is not to mess things up, but I think you know what I mean.

Roger, this is very sad to hear and I am so sorry — it is extremely difficult to lose an animal who means so much, and it's also sad to hear about Dandy's sadness, too. Please get better, and thank you very much for letting us know what's happening. This is a great site, and I know we've all missed being a part of it lately.

I've been working on trying to repair this forum, its been reloaded, updated, the mysqul data base has been checked, ran a repair program on it but no luck yet.
I'm posting on the vBulletin forum asking for help, will be asking for more as I do these test and attempted repairs.
Next may be finding someone who knows how to work on mysqul data bases.

Sorry it's taking so long to fix,
Roger

Good news and bad news.
Bad news first.
The website host makes a weekly backup but their back up is corrupted.
Here's the final email I received back form them:
Ok, it looks like there is no backup.
The backup file we had was corrupted.
You will need to restore from your local backups.

Next thing was there's a post history backup file that I was hoping to use, but after posting on help forums and a lot of help from a computer expert where I work, this won't work.

The good news, well kind of good news.
I have a back from 1-23-09 that can be used to restore things up to that date so all is not lost.

In the next few days this site will be on a much larger and more reliable web host.
The files have already been copied over to it and I just need to set a few things up now.

Sorry for the long delay, I'm still having problems from getting sick in India. Yesterday at work I had extremely bad chest and shoulder pains and was airlifted from offshore to the emergency room. Thank god it wasn't my heart, after a lot of test they think it's Pleurisy that was brought on by the chronic bronchitis from last week.

When this forum first went down I was at work and working 16 hour days, only put about 6 hours into fixing things that week, soon as I got off work it was off to India for the worlds largest animal market. When I got back I was too sick to do much of anything. Last week at work I got a lot figured out with the help of a good friend who grew up around computers.

I’m very sorry it’s taking so long to repair this forum.
Working with SQL is something I’ve never gotten into before and I’m relaying on help from others.
Spent four hours last night setting up a virtual server on the computer for testing repairs to the SQL database, and more time tonight.
What we are trying to do is repair it without loosing new members and other info that is still there. It would be easy to do a full restore, but this would delete everything over the past year.
Hope to have this problem fixed in the next few days.

Roger
