I went to Oasis Camel Dairy (http://www.cameldairy.com/) on Sunday. :D

Oasis is the only camel dairy in America, and right now Gil has 18 camels. It was peaceful and beautiful to be in a big pasture with camels all around you. My friend and I got a fantastic tour where we met all the camels and heard about each individual one. Gil's a fantastic guy himself, and was invaluable to me through the process of getting Baby castrated. I also learned a ton of interesting things, and was re-assured that I'm on the right track with Baby, which is always very nice to hear.

Being there with all those camels, also re-affirmed my want (or is it need?) to get another camel, and I'm keeping my eyes open. Camels are brilliant, beautiful animals. There was no milk to try, but Gil keeps some frozen to make soap out of. We got several bars of it, and I haven't used mine yet, but my mom and my roommate say it's absolutely amazing soap. You can order it through his web site here. (http://www.cameldairy.com/camel_milk_soap.htm)

I did take some pictures, but not a ton, I was too engulfed in the camels and listening to Gil's experiences with them. You can see the few I did take at my web site.

Well, that's that! I'm going to go back after he gets his camel string tour together. It was well worth the drive.
