Just a quick note to everyone about our big event! I didn't walk the parade with Boris because of how people react to him and how he reacts to that!

I was able to walk him on a sidewalk and on the paved street several times around the courthouse in our small neighboring town (Dayton, TN) but he often created quite the effect on passerbys. Some would just smile, or wave or look astonished but a few would come running and screeching and reaching to touch him. That sort of either freaked him out or made him really happy because he'd try to go into one of his leggy dances.

Because of that, we kept him in his portable corral most of the time and we put on several short shows with our new training abilities.

Needless to say, we were very popular! If you're interested, here's a link to the pictures my husband took

Of course, as much as people are fascinated by Boris, my little Pygmy goat petting zoo is always the hit with the little children.

To all of you who provided valuable imput to preparing Boris for this event, THANK YOU!

What a great sense of community spirit here! Boris is a handsome dude and that tiny pygmy goat is too adorable for words. I really enjoyed every photo, and thanks for sharing them with us. I'd say you are one lucky gal.

Spring City, TN is having their annual Christmas parade December 20th but Boris will not be able to be a part of it much to the chagrin of the Chamber of Commerce.

No, we didn't actually turn down the invitation but we had to consider that the entire show/set up is about 30 feet from an active train track. 20 to 30 trains speed by in the course of a 24 hour period and because it's "flying" through town, it has to blow it's whistle which registers 300 decibels on the scale!

I didn't want to risk having Boris there - what if he'd freak out and hurt himself in his corral? So I kindly declined the invitation but agreed to set up the petting zoo with the goats and the miniature filly!
