Hello,
Working in central Australia with 21 camels. We have a 4-5 yr old gelding with major fluid build up in both rear feet, ankles extending up to fetlock. Fluid build up in 1 foot is much more extensive. Major hair loss has also resulted on foot, ankle extending upwards. No visible pain in walking. We were advised it may be dietry but supplementing with bush foods has not improved condition:mad. This particular camel came to us very underweight with little appetite. In the last 3-4 months he has definately regained his appetite, and put on weight. Though the weight is mainly being put on in his belly region. He has virtually no hump to speak of. He has been treated for all parasites. No other camels in the yards shared and separate have any similar condition. Any knowledge of this sort of condition would be greatly appreciated. Will try and post a photo in the next few days.
Regards.
