Hi
our female drom camel is half broken in at the moment and we can tell her to kush and lead with a halter. But when it comes time to put the halter on her she becomes quite head shy and pulls away.We have tried treats and it does work.Although i do not wont her to think that where there is a treat, there is a big scary halter, if you know what i mean.
Anyhelp would be Appreciated.
Thanks

I saw one person actually teach her camels to target their nose to her palm. She'd go right up to the camel hold her palm out (fingers up towards sky) with the nose band of the halter around her hand. The camel would immediatly bring his nose down to her hand and she'd slip the halter on.

Do you ever just halter her before she gets her grain..just her grain not work? The guys I worked with became VERY easy to halter once they realized that halter meant grain and not always just work.
