Hi i thought i might be cool to open up a new thread for people who have traveled to far away lands and enjoyed the culture of camels.

My name is Kamahl and i am a film maker. I made Phil Gee's Camel training video. It wasn't my first introduction to camels as they have been popping up around me in my life, even when i was a small child.

I love traveling by and with camels and i love making films so i guess the two have combined at some point.

This is just a little series i made years ago and thought you might like to see it, especially if you don't have the chance to go to India although i do recommend it.

i'd love to hear your stories should you be willing to share. At this very moment in time i am locked in a room, cutting a four part series of my first big adventure with camels. An adventure that was once in a life time.
(Collective moments of madness)

I dream to be out in the world again and hopefully get to meet with camel enthusiasts all over the world.

feel free to drop me a line if you like my stuff.

Very impressive video clip, when I have time I will have to check out the rest of them.
I shot some HD video there too using a Canon HV20, Fisheye lens and a Steadicam Merlin as I walked around between the camels. Still have not viewed the footage to see how it turned out.

Kamahlfilm, this is an excellent idea! I spent a week riding camels in the Sinai desert with the Bedouins not too long ago, and it was one of the best trips I've ever taken. Thanks for coming up with this idea, and I'll see what photos I can find to share here.

When I have a moment. I will put up a story and some pics of a couple of my camel trips that i have been on over the years.
So good to share ideas and adventures that are possible, and you never know in the future we maybe able to organize something overseas. camel people enjoying camels traveling by camel. hahaha

Something I've been hoping for . . . a camel trip for camel people only. Great idea!

Hi Kamahlfilm,
I just saw your video about the Camel Odyssey, very nicely done!
I was there at the Pushkar Camel Fair when you showed up but didn't know that you had made it until latter.

When I went to Pushkar for the camel fair I thought this was a once in a lifetime adventure, that is until I went back there 2 more times. Been to India 10 times now, mostly to the large animal events.

I'm glad you found this video again, Bactrian, and posted it. It brings home the fact that Camels aren't indestructable. Very moving.
