That’s a hard question, it’s like asking what’s the coldest temperature a horse or dog can stay outside in. Camels get long hair in cold climates and if they have a dry place to stay, along with being out of the wind they can withstand some very low temperatures.
Also some breeds of camels have longer hair and can withstand harsher conditions.

I was just at a site called Summerhummers.com, in Wiscinson. They've posted a temperature range from +140* Farenheit to -40* Farenheit. This is concerning Bactrians, who I guess grow more fiber in Winter than do Dromedaries. Does this sound right to you, Roger? ABout the fiber, I mean.

The temperature does not get up to 140* in the Mongolia’s Gobi Desert. Most places say the Bactrian camel can stand +120* Fahrenheit to -40* Fahrenheit temperatures.
When out packing with my animals, Gobi will start sweating badly when the temperature gets over +90* Fahrenheit, so I have to get an early start and pack it the cool of the morning or start late as the sun is going down.

It hit 111 here yesterday and whilst my camels spent a great deal of their time in the river, they were quite happy, I go by the old addage, that I'll only ask my camel to do what I'll do - so therefore, I'll only ask them to walk as far as I'm prepared to walk - and I'll only ask them to carry loads of about 1/3 than they should.

I did get the hosepipe out, but only one of my Bactians loves the hose - the others ran off! Again - would love to post photies - admin please help me!!
