My bf, who is Samirah's actual owner, but agreed to give her to me...anyway, he just admitted something to me which has me really scared for her. He played on the whole, I didn't mean to, thing, but he did what he did. see, Samirah wasn't doing something he wanted her to do, and he says he hit her, or pushed her or something...kinda confused as to which it was, but I also got the impression it wasn't his first time doing this to her. I was totally outraged when he told me this and I snapped at him. I just said, do u ever stop to think it's not ur camel thats the rebellious one, and maybe the way u train her? or even treat her for that matter? don't forget, I was in the mid east with this man when I met her. I didn't see a lot of interatction between him and her as far as keeping the bond. to him she just a camel, not part of the family, for gosh sakes he didn't even call her by name when he talked about her to me, she was just, the camel... it really burns me up, and all I can say is I cant take her away from him fast enough! she'd be better off with me! with someone who gives a....about her. so my quest continues.

sumtimes camels do need to be whipped or as i like to say encouraged to do sumthing. you cannot have a camel and not discipline them. Its not like he was hitting her insanely to the point of abuse.

I think we are yet to find an animal that responds well to being whipped or beaten or thumped into action. Hopefully we on this forum, as camel owners and trainers are moving, as the horse world has moved, to seeking out and implementing less harsh training methods.

this is true. however theres a fine line between what you're supposed to do, and what I've seen him do.sumtimes camels do need to be whipped or as i like to say encouraged to do sumthing. you cannot have a camel and not discipline them. Its not like he was hitting her insanely to the point of abuse.
