Wrestling camels

Hi there,

Anyone seen the posting on youtube of Bactrian camels wrestling in Turkey, a festival of wrestling!
http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=camels+wrestling+turkey&search=Search the camels are all dressed up in colourful garb and wrestling in a stadium. It is not pleasant as a camel lover to watch. I guess it must be legal in Turkey. How many other camel countries practice this sport? I am not a fan :(

I had a reply from a person who lives near the town where the wrestling takes place every January. The camels are believed to be Bac/drom crosses, and are rutting at this time of year, so naturally aggressive The handlers pull them apart to ensure that no injuries occur (?) They are treated like kings, till the festival occurs.:( Still a sad festival :(
