I am new to all this but my father has followed camels since the glory days.

Question is this - across the Sahara what is faster a camel with one or 2 humps, or the indian elephant?:elephant

Elephants have a short burst of speed but wouldn’t do very well in the hot sandy Sahara. The 2 hump Bactrian camels are faster than elephants, but they are built heaver with shorter legs than a 1 hump dromedary camel and the 2 hump camels don't do as well in high heat as the 1 hump camels.
So the 1 hump dromedary camel would win the race no matter if it was a short race or long race.
Good thing you didn’t ask about the 3 hump camels :rofl
