Hi
I'd be interested in other peoples feedback on this... today, for the first time, my husband got up on one of our camels - this was a complete first time for her, and we had done extensive ground work with her in preparation for this event...
We kind of built ourselves up to expect a little shuffling around, perhaps a little backing up, or hopping about... but NOTHING... N O T H I N G... she just stood there...
I would love to know what other peoples experience of the first time of backing camels has been like please??? We have another three to go, and as everyone is different, it's good to know the low sides too!!

Many thanks to you all and kind regards

When you have done a lot with them and are friends with them, there shouldn’t be any problem getting on their backs. Even ones that have not been worked with much may be upset at first but will quickly calm down in most cases.
As long as they have no fear of you they are usually very willing to do what is asked of them. It also helps a lot if you have earned their trust!
I put all kinds of things on the back of my camel and he thinks it's a lot of fun.

Just thought I'd share my experience of yesterday with you - photo's to follow!
Yesterday we saddled her up and I got up on Josephine for the first time!! She didn't worry about it at all, infact, she was far more prepared for it than I was! Fortunately, I had my trusty camel clicking friend on the end of a rope - sadly, she's as short as me and wasn't able to help me down - so after 30 minutes of waiting for my husband to return, we ended up getting Josephine to cush to let me off!! She didn't batter an eyelid!
I can't recommend Camel Clicking Claire enough!!!
Thanks you!
